Tens of aggrieved customers of embattled First Allied Savings and Loans have demonstrated their displeasure with the government for not ensuring payment of their locked up monies with the financial institution.
The customers who are mostly women with diverse economic challenges, lamented bitterly to our news team on their disappointment with the government’s financial sector receiver, Mr. Eric Nippah for his inability to pay their monies to them, even though he claims to have paid 85% of monies to deserving clients.
Ghananews247.com In an interview with an elderly woman of 69 years who sells sleeping mat in the Nkawkaw market annex indicated that, she has been doing the business all her life and has been able to save an amount of GH¢3,500.00.
“Look at an old women like me, I have sold sleeping mat all my life to take care of my home. Now I am 69 years old and need my money to put up just a single room to accommodate my self and family so I am pleading with Nana Akufo Addo to please intervene for me to get my money” she said.
Another customer, Juliana Opokuaa also appealed to the eminent chiefs within the Kwahu traditional Area, led by His Eminence, Daasebre Akuamoah Agyapong II, Kwahuhene to also intervene in getting government to pay back their monies by its receiver, Mr. Eric Nippah because they have thousands of CEDI’s in there, but are currently suffering together with their families.
Hajia Barikisu Saani who led the aggrieved women also petitioned the H.E. the President, Nana Akufo Addo to as a matter of urgency, intervene in the matter and ensure that the receiver does due diligence with his job and pay back their monies to them because they are suffering.
She also called on all government officials within the Kwahu enclave to add their voices to the call for swift payment of their lock up monies in order to relief them off their current predicaments.
“I am pleading with H.E. Nana Addo Danquah Akufo Addo to as a matter of urgency, intervene in our case and get Mr. Eric Nippah to pay our monies to us. We are currently in need of the money to sustain our families in this COVID-19 period. Life hasn’t been simple with us but we trust you, Mr. President that you are able to do, so please come to our behalf.
I am also calling on our chiefs and all government officials in Kwahu to rise up and fight for us or else we will die’ she said.
However, some angry customers say they will demonstrate nakedly against the government and its receiver in the coming days if nothing is done about their plights.
