Ghana’s 2nd Dep. Central Bank Governor Resigns

The Second Deputy Governor of the Bank of Ghana (BoG), Dr Johnson Asiama, has officially resigned.

Information available to ClassFMonline.com indicates that Dr Asiama tendered in his resignation letter on Wednesday, December 27, 2017.

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has been formally informed about his resignation with copies of the letter sent to the office of the Vice-President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, the Governor of the Bank of Ghana, Dr Ernest Addison and Finance Minister Ken Ofori Atta.

Dr Asiama confirmed his resignation to Class News.

He was appointed by the erstwhile John Mahama-led administration and his tenure was supposed to have ended in April 2020.

Dr Asiama’s resignation comes almost a year after his former boss Dr Abdul-Nashiru Issahaku, resigned as Governor shortly after the Akufo-Addo government took office.
