MTN Ghana Foundation Adjudged ‘Foundation of the Year’

 

MTN Ghana Foundation, the CSR arm of MTN Ghana has been adjudged ‘Foundation Of The Year’  2017 at the  Sustainability and Social Investment Awards held in Accra.

In a citation, MTN Ghana Foundation was eulogized for its achievements during the year under review coupled with its enormous impact on society.

MTN Ghana Foundation also won two awards namely: Best Company in Partnership for Community Development and Project of the Year.  The awards were in recognition of MTN Ghana Foundation’s initiatives in the areas of corporate social investments, impact of projects in the communities and focus on achieving inclusive growth and sustainable development.

Commenting on the awards, the acting Corporate Services Executive Mr.  Robert Kuzoe said, “The mission of the MTN Foundation is to improve the quality of lives of people through appropriate and sustainable corporate social responsibility interventions in communities where MTN operates.”

“These awards testify that MTN Ghana Foundation has positively impacted a number of communities in Ghana. The Foundation will continue to brighten the lives of the people by investing in impactful and sustainable projects and ultimately be the benchmark of Corporate Social Responsibility in Ghana”, he added.

He dedicated the awards to the Board Members of the MTN Ghana Foundation, Management and staff of MTN and to all MTN Ghana Foundation beneficiaries across the country.Afua

The Sustainability and Social Investment Awards (SSI Awards) is an annual event organized and hosted by Ion Africa Business (IAB) in partnership with FIRMUS ADVISORY a leading research company in Ghana. The awards identify and publicly recognize the exemplary success of all companies operating in Ghana who are engaged in voluntarily improving the quality of life of the people through impactful and sustainable social investment projects and programs in communities. The awards were organized under the theme ‘Investing in people, impacting lives’

Since its establishment in 2007, the MTN Ghana Foundation has invested USD 13 million in over 142 major projects in the areas of Education, Health and Economic Empowerment which are directly impacting an estimated population of 4 million and several others indirectly.
