The New Patriotic Party’s Parliamentary candidate elect for the Nkawkaw constituency, Mr. Joseph Frimpong has urged all party members to be focused on getting every eligible voter to register and get unto the Electoral Commission’s ongoing mass voter registration roll throughout the country, especially the people of Nkawkaw because that is the first and major step towards achieving victory in this year’s elections.
According to the Parliamentary candidate elect, that is the first and major work needed for the NPP to do in order to come out as victors in the December polls.
“Yes I am currently on patrol to all the 16 registration centres to ensure that our people marshal every eligible voter to register in the constituency with all consciousness because, don’t forget, it is the first and major step in ensuring victory in the upcoming polls” he said.
The PC elect made these remarks when he granted an exclusive interview to our news team when we chanced on him during his supervision tour on the Electoral Commission’s ongoing mass registration exercise at the Nkawkaw Pentecost school registration centre today.
Mr. Joseph Frimpong further indicated that, the party has deployed polling station executives into all areas to get their people out there to register.
“I am very sure that by the end of the exercise, everybody in this constituency who matters, who is qualified, who is 18 years and above and sound will be registered to vote, come December 7th” he added.
Speaking on his victory in the just ended Parliamentary primaries, the PC- elect, admitted that the contest was indeed a stronger one, considering the crop of big men who were involved such as the defeated Eastern Regional Minister, Hon. Eric Kwakye Darfour, former Members of parliament, Hon. Shaba and Hon. Okakyire Adusa, Lawyer Joyce Opoko Boateng and David Asante.
He however indicated his mission to unite the party and for that matter, he and his team has engaged all the other contenders and have reconciled all post contest differences in order to ensure unity, going into the polls.
“The contest has been generally tough and hectic but God has brought us thus far and we are grateful to him. Let me say that my agenda is to unite the NPP in Nkawkaw towards victory 2020 and therefore I together with my team have engaged my senior fellows over whom I won to address all existing issues, in order to enable us move forward. I also intend to bring onboard all party members who have now drawn themselves out of party work due to either apathy or have brought their work to and end peacefully, to join hands in pursuing the victory we are looking for” he noted.
Mr. Joseph Frimpong finally commended the citizens for the high levels of self comportment and also adhering to the COVID-19 protocols at the registration centres.
