2017 McDan Juniors Tennis Open Heats Up

The 2017 McDan Tennis Juniors Open is getting interesting after the two days of wonderful tennis display by the young boys and girls.

Over 160 kids are competing for honours in the six days tournament which ends on Saturday. The event is for Under 12, Under 14 and Under 16 boys and girls.

On the second day in the boys under 12, the players who won include John Okine Ntiamoah, Alfred Abbey, Shaibu Abubakari, Raphael Nii Ankrah, Dan Larbi, Joseph Doe Adjani, Abubakari Yakubu, Prince Yeboah, Godfred Nortey, Simon Dela Ikott, Joshua Mccarthy, Felix Kwarteng, Michael Adjei, Isaac Akuoku, Elijah Okine, Desmond Adjebu, Stephen Sarkodie, Andrew Clinton, Aaron Armah, Caleb Aryettey, Eric Yeboah, Kojo Stephens, Nicholas Bawa, Kwesi Amoako and Lameck Bagerbaseh.

In the Girls Under 14, some of the winners were Maggie Donkor, Yvonne Noi, Yayra Komashie and Vanessa Akuaku.

The Under 16 thrills will be intensified during the week, and tennis fans must be at the courts to cheer the young players.

In an interview with some of the players, they thanked Dr. McKorley, the event main sponsor, Nat Attoh, the event coordinator, Mr. Duah, President of the Ghana Tennis Federation (GTF) and the media who have been supporting tennis.

9 year old Issac Akuoku who is one of the players to watch said he is sure of winning the Under 12 boys category.
