The Communications Directorate For HE Michael Aaron Nii Nortey Yaw Oquaye Jnr. has described as false reports that he has withdrawn from contesting the Internal Parliamentary Primary Election for Dome Kwabenya Constituency.
According to the Directorate, Michael Oquaye Jnr. Has never mooted such idea and for that matter is in the race as against had he falsehoods being peddled by his opponents.
In a Press Release issued by his Communication Directorate, it was stated that “information being circulated on social media platforms purporting that HE Michael Aaron Nii Nortey Yaw Oquaye who is contesting the Internal Parliamentary Primary Election for Dome Kwabenya Constituency has withdrawn from the said election race,” is total falsehood and an automatically tempt to confuse delegates ahead of the elections.
“We wish to inform all Polling Station Executives, Electoral Area Coordinators, Council of Elders, Patrons, Disciplinary Committee Members, Constituency Executives, the Constituency Parliamentary Election Committee and the general public that our Candidate has not withdrawn from the said elections as it is being falsely peddled around by some unscrupulous people.”
The statement also pointed out that, per the directives coming from the National Secretariat of the Party, “we still remain bold, confident and resolute that when all is set and a new date, day, time and venue is communicated from national, we shall be in and God Willing win the race.”
They called on all to remain calm and wait on the National leaders in charge conducting the elections to come out with a new road map.
