Few days to the general elections, Ghanaian Actors and Actresses who, many people were believing would support one of their own, John Dumelo, to become the Member of Parliament (MP) for Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency, have shocked the entire nation when they hit the streets to campaign for the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) Lydia Seyram Alhassan and Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
These actors and actresses including Kalybos, Prince David Osei, Bismark The Joke, actress-Bibi Bright, Jessica Williams and other notable celebrities stormed the Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency on Wednesday, December 2, 2020 with a strong campaign for Lydia Seyram Alhassan.
The action by the group of celebrities however came to many people who came out from their homes to take a glance and hear the message they came out with.
NPP supporters who were on the campaign trail on that day expressed great satisfaction at the decision taken by the celebrities to campaign for Lydia Alhassan.
Although they couldn’t fathom why they left their colleague-John Dumelo, who is contesting on the ticket of NDC to campaign for Madam Lydia Alhassan, they believe they have seen the good works done by Lydia Alhassan and the NPP government, hence their decision.
Speaking to residents, the team of celebrities urged them to vote massively for Nana Akufo-Addo and Hon Lydia Alhassan
“Vote Number 1,” they said as they move along the streets of Ayawaso.
Prince David Osei asked the people to go out in their numbers on December 7 and vote massively for the NPP.
He said; “We are all out here campaigning for His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and Mama Lydia; we are telling you all to vote for Number 1, vote for President Akufo Addo and Mama Lydia to continue the good works.”
He also said, “Vote number 1, vote for a visionary leader who will take Ghana far. The prosperity of Ghana lies in the hands of this great man. Vote Number 1, Vote Nana Akufo-Addo, Vote Lydia Alhassan.”
Hon. Lydia Seyram Alhassan who was elated and surprised at the level of support she received from these celebrities expressed gratitude and assured them that when she is voted for and given another term to serve, she will continue with the good works.
“I pledge my commitment to serve my people. I will not fail you, the confidence you repose in me will yield positive fruits in my next term,” she said.
