Ayawaso West MP Urges All To Contribute & Support NPP To Victory

The Member of Parliament (MP) and 2020 NPP Parliamentary Candidate for Ayawaso West Wuogon, Hon. Lydia Seyram Alhassan has appealed to party supporters to avail themselves in contributing towards the campaign leading to the December elections.

According to her, contributing and supporting the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to win the coming elections is a collective responsibility and civic duty of all well-meaning Ghanaians.

She made the call during the fundraising campaign launch in Accra last Friday.

The fundraising campaign is aimed at getting members and sympathizers of the NPP, both home and abroad, to contribute financially towards the 2020 election campaign.

Hon. Lydia Seyram Alhassan who touted the achievements of the NPP government under President Akufo-Addo, averred that the government’s programs and social intervention policies have each touched the lives of each and every Ghanaian and that, there is every reason for the people of Ghana who appreciate what President Akufo-Addo has done for them, to guarantee another Four-Year Term for the government.

She averred that, Ghana’s development process has seen significant meaning under President Akufo-Addo and indicated that changing government at this time of our development process will be disastrous and urged all to vote massively for the NPP.

Also, the Vice-President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia who launched the Fundraising Campaign urged Ghanaians to rally behind President Akufo-Addo in December’s election to enable him continue his economic transformation and all-inclusive development agenda for the country.

He said, the people of Ghana know what the NDC is made up and for that matter do not “want to repeat that dance, one step forward and two steps backward.”

He said: “In my opinion, this is the most crucial elections of our generation,” because the country is on the cusp of a major transformation under President Akufo-Addo, and reinventing the wheel will take the country backward.

Dr Bawumia stressed that what is at stake for the country in December’s election is a choice between the nation’s progress, represented by the NPP under Nana Akufo-Addo and retrogression, represented by the opposition NDC under John Mahama.

He however used the positioning on the ballot paper to make a case, saying that voting for number one, which is President Akufo-Addo, is one step forward, and voting for number 2, which is former President Mahama, means taking the nation two steps backward.

“Interestingly and by the grace of God, when the ballot numbering came, NPP is number one; NDC is number two. If you choose NPP, you’re going to take a step forward. If you choose NDC, you are going to take two steps backward. That is what it is. One step forward, or do you want two steps backward? That is the choice that Ghanaians face and we have to make sure, we the NPP and the people of Ghana, that we will protect the gains that the leadership of Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has brought to Ghanaians,” he said.

He also averred that the country cannot risk the free SHS, all the jobs government has been creating, the One District One Factory, One Village One Dam, NABCO and all the policies that the country is making.

The Vice President noted that the future of the country is promising under the leadership of Nana Akufo-Addo.

“Nana Akufo-Addo has said that if by the Grace of God, we come into office, he wants to extend help to students who have qualified to go to university with tertiary loans so that they can go to the university. And we are not going to build mortuaries for our Zongo communities. We are going to build schools for our Zongo communities. So, there is a lot at stake for this election. It is the most important election, in my opinion, in our generation. Because I believe that we are on the cusp of a major transformation in this country and that is why we need to do what we can to raise the resources to support the NPP’s campaign,” he said.
