The Ghana Center for Democratic Development (CDD-Ghana), in collaboration with STAR-Ghana and media partners, will on Wednesday, 15th August, 2018 convene a multi-stakeholder dialogue on the Free SHS and the Double Track System policies.

The announcement by government of the new Double Track System sparked intense debates and reignited public discussions about the free SHS policy and its implementation.

It has also raised issues about the nature of consultations undertaken by government before its adoption of such policies.

Scheduled to be held the Kofi Annan ICT Center at 10am, the National Dialogue on Education seeks to promote stakeholder engagement and understanding of Free SHS and the Double Track System policies and to foster policy coherence and sustainability in Ghana’s educational sector. It is also aimed at inviting relevant recommendations to mitigate potential challenges that may be associated with implementation of the policies.

Workshop participants in the dialogue will include key stakeholders within the education sector, such as representatives from the Ministry of Education, the Ghana Education Service, teacher associations, civil society, independent experts, educationists, and parents/guardians.

The Hon. Deputy Minister of Education, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, will join a three-member panel discussion, which will be moderated by renowned lawyer, Mr. Ace Ankomah.
