CHANNEL “CHAMBER” RESOURCE INTO USEFUL VENTURE

An Educationist and Member of the Clergy, Rev. Abraham Sanniez has asked the government to channel the $200M Dollar resource earmarked for financing the expansion of the Chamber of the Parliament House into useful venture such as the construction of more Senior High Schools to accommodate the increasing number of students benefiting under the Free SHS programme, as well as the expansion of health facilities in the country.
Speaking to Ghananews.com on the issue which has become a matter of debate since the majority leader of the, Hon. Osei Kyei-Mensah Bonsu broke it, Rev. Abraham Sanniez stated that the there are pressing problems facing the the country more important than the expansion of the Chamber of the Parliament Hose.
He described the proposal of the intended project as a misplaced priority, saying that as a country, the its leaders should learn to put their money where their mouth is.
He mentioned bad nature of roads, delapidated pblic structres, unavailability of facilities in msot health facilities across the country among others as some of the pressing problems that the leaders need to attend to, and not the extension of the Parliament House to serve the comfort of a selected few.
He later warned politicians not to do things to serve their parochial interest and comfort, at the expense of the ordinary citizen who voted them into power.
