The AkIm Oda Concern Citizen Association and residents has demonstrate and register their displeasure over death trap Jubilee bridge which link Akim Oda to other places in the country.
The bridge which was constructed over 20 years now has not seen any facelift or rehabilitation since it was constructed.
The residents demonstrate through the principal streets of the Akim Oda in the Birim Central Municipality in the Eastern Region over the detrioting bridge.
Mr. Benard Botwey one of the leaders speaking to Ghananews247.com stated that many promises has been made to them as far as the bridge is concern but they are yet to see any development on the bridge.
According to him a good Samaritan decided to repair the bridge but he was told the road is highway so its highway authority which has been mandated to work on highways, up-til now nothing has been done and they don’t know when the bridge will be fix.
NPP always says Akim Oda is one of their strong hold so Akim Oda deserve strong bridge.
The current state of the bridge now is a death trap and a killer bridge so its need to be fix.
Akim Ajuafo Kontihene who double as the Eastern Regional GPRTU treasure said the state of the bridge is very bad and its makes movement very difficult because drivers and passengers fear for their lives so he pleaded with government to repair the bridge now.
