Establish Ghana Real Estate Fund-Estate Developer to Gov’t

The chief executive for Danywise Estate and Construction, Mr.Frank Aboagye Danyansah, has said, Ghana real estate should be given attention and that government should establish Ghana real estate fund to promote sustainable housing.

According to him, government should focus on the need to establish the fund because the challenges in accommodation for citizens in the country is uninteresting.

‘I am an estate developer and I know what am saying,’Mr.Danyansah.

The chief executive made this call during the Ghana Property awards 2017 at the state house banquet hall, Accra.

During the presentation of the awards, Mr.Frank Aboagye Danyansah, who owned Danywise estate and construction limited won the overall best estate developer-lower income apartments.

In his remarks to the new crusading guide after the program, the awardee said every Ghanaian worker either with public or private sector must own a house at his retirement age of sixty where he is incapacitated and can no longer work to service his bills.

The demand for commercial and residential real estate continues to grow across Africa. However the demand for accommodation should be critically looked at, the CEO hinted.

Ghana, he said per his records has a housing deficit of 1.7 million units and we will need about $ 34billion to fix it. Day by day Mr.Frank Aboagye Danyansah said keeps worsening the problem because the attention government gives to housing problems is not encouraging.

The CEO of Danywise Estate and Construction explained that government would have to construct about 190,000 to 200,000 units before the housing challenges in Ghana can be overcome. Though there are a lot that some of us as real estate developers must do but government should consider coming out with ways to solve housing problems especially for it workers before they are retired.

It must also consider the establishment of the real estate fund so that some of us can access the fund to open up our enterprises and also aid in bringing the deficit of accommodation ratio down.

In his delivering, he lauded the currently administration led by His Excellency, Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo for creating a separate ministry to deal with housing and works in Ghana and also the abolishment of the 5% tax on real estate.

Mr.Danyansah reaffirmed that the creating of the ministry for works and housing would largely addressed challenges in the housing sector and would also adopt ways to look for everlasting solutions to housing needs.

‘’I see the creation of the new ministry by government to give priority to housing sector in the country and will help we the industry players achieve what we have been always talking about, ’the award winner stressed.

The 10years anniversary celebration and awards night was under the theme ‘Exploiting Data to Bond Bricks and Mortar Trading ’.
