A rage of fire last Monday burnt down four large stores at ‘Kwahu Lane’, a popular business centre in Agona Swedru, destroying everything, running into millions of GH Cedis.
The affected stores which includes a drug store sells items ranging from farm impliments to household utensils, electrical and manual sewing machines, ice chest and other valuable items.
The fire which was beleieved to have started around 11:OO pm took the combine effort of personnel of the Ghana National Fire Service from Swedru, Winneba and Apam to bring it under control.
Though no immediate cause was established at the time of filing this report, but some residents believed that it was a a result of the eratic power outages by the Electricity Company of Ghana [ECG} which has become a common norm in the town for the past two months.
