Ghana government to facilitate flight of 300 fans to India 2017

The Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ghana will fly 300 supporters to India to support the national U-17 team ahead of the FIFA U17 World Cup which kicks off this Friday, October 6-28, 2017.

The Sports Ministry have indicated that the airlifting of the 300 supporters to India will be funded with financial support from the private sector.

Speaking in an interview, Isaac Asiamah disclosed that the Sports Ministry is facilitating the number of supporters traveling to India to support the Black Starlets and that number has been pegged at 300 and will not be exceeded.

“The first consideration of sending supporters is for them to come under one umbrella and they have shown that during the WAFU tournament in Cape Coast.

“They have written a letter to me that they have come together and they are called Coalition of Ghana Supporters Union and they demonstrated that in Cape Coast and I was very impressed.

“We don’t want to send a large number to India and we will have considered not more than 300 supporters”, he added.
