Government to launch district housing projects.

The Minister of Works and Housing, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, has announced that the government is set to launch district housing projects aimed at addressing the housing deficit in the country.

In an interview with Oyerepa TV, the minister emphasized the government’s commitment to providing affordable housing across all regions, not just in major cities like Accra and Kumasi.

Kojo Oppong Nkrumah revealed plans to construct 1.8 million houses nationwide, with preparations well underway in terms of documentation and logistics to kickstart the projects.

The minister outlined a goal of building forty homes in each district, with an initial focus on 35 selected districts to initiate the program.

However, Nkrumah assured that every district in the country would eventually benefit from the housing initiative.

He emphasized the government’s dedication to completing all ongoing housing projects nationwide, underscoring the importance of providing adequate housing for all citizens.

He urged local chiefs to allocate at least seven acres of land for housing developments within their districts.
