“Include Queen Mothers In Decision Making In House of Chiefs”

A Divisional Queen Mother at the Gomoa Ajumako Traditional Area and Regent of Gomoa Aboso in the Central Region, Nana Ayeraba II has called for the inclusion of Queen Mothers in the House of Chiefs.

According to her, Queen Mothers have been excluded from the House for far too long and it is now time that they participate in the deliberations in the House.

A former telephonist with the then Post and Telecommunication (P&T) now Ghana Post, the 72 year-old Queen mother who has reign for thirty three years stressed that women have proved their merit that they are good contributors when it comes to decision making, and this she said cuts across all facets of life from politics to religion, business, academia, security and sports, and as such sidelining Queen Mothers in deliberations in the House of Chiefs amount to denying them of their ability to contribute to the decision making of the development of their people.

She later urged women, especially those in high positions to set themselves as examples worthy of emulation by the younger generation.
