James Town Gets New Chief After Burial Of Oblempong Nii Kojo Ababio

The chief, elders and kingmakers of James Town Alata Traditional Area has installed a new chief to take over the reins of the James Town.

Kingmakers and chiefs of the the Ngleshie Alata traditional council expressed the hope that the installation of a new chief will end the speculations going round that there is an already installed chief in James town.

According to them, Henry Nunoo Kappoe is the rightful heir to ascend the thrown and succeed their late chief, Oblempong Nii Kojo Ababio and late president of the Ngleshie Alata traditional council.

Some residents who spoke to reporters after the installation expressed joy at the emergence of a New Chief of James Town.

The newly installed chief Known in private life as Henry Nii Oko Nunoo Koppoe who would replace the late Nii Kojo Ababio was traditionally carried by the youth of James Town known as asafoatsemen and kingmakers of the traditional area during the burial service of Oblempong Nii kojo Ababio which attracted some dignitaries from the government Mrs. Rebecca Akuffo Addo, the former mayor of Accra, Agyiri Blankson and some top government officials.

The installation ceremony which took place after the burial of the late chief saw town folks expressing joy.

Some members of traditional Council are however cautioning the general public to take notice and observe that from henceforth, there is only one chief in James Town in the person of Henry Nii Oko Nunoo Koppoe.
