The office of His Gracious Majesty Oseadeeyo Dr Frimpong Manso IV has released a communique condemning Opera News’ story: “Attack On Chinese Mining Site: Akyem Kotoku Galamsey Chief, Akokoaso Chief Bluff The Court; Demand Release Of Illegal Miners Freely, Who Were Remanded By Court”.
The seven point communique rebuts the false report and describes Kotokuhene as an astute businessman and a Physician of high standing in the United States of America who does not engage in Galamsey.
The communique also hinted the revered king doesn’t know any of the Galamseyers and “…has no arrangement with neither has he covenanted, contacted, engaged or contracted the said 14 culprits in any mining operation or any other enterprise”.
It looks as if the false report published on Opera News is a backlash against Oseadeeyo Dr Frimpong Manso’s call for the release of the poor residents of Akokoaso whose lands were being encroached upon by the Chinese led Jia Xin industrial Company Ltd.
Some sources at Akokoaso have revealed that certain powerful individuals within the community have been disenchanted by that call and the disposition of the Chinese led mining company to cooperate with the Akokoaso residents going forward.
The communique further called on Ghanaians to ‘ disregard the false publication and treat same with the contempt it deserves”.
Outspoken Aseembly Man of Akokoaso, Charles Frimpong, described the publication as a complete falsehood and hinted that the road map to peace and cooperation as laid down by Oseadeeyo Dr Frimpong Manso IV would be followed to the letter so Akokoaso residents would benefit from the mining operations of Jia Xin industrial Company Limited.
