Kwahu West Municipal Education Directorate holds Science Technology Mathematics,Acts Innovation Quiz for Basic School

The Kwahu West Municipal Health Directorate has held its 2020 annual Science, Technology, Mathematics, Acts and Innovation Quiz for Basic School pupils within the municipality.

The interview (Quiz) as it is usually referred to is aimed at preparing a team of brilliant students to represent the municipality in a regional competition scheduled to take place in Koforidua, the Eastern Regional capital.

Addressing journalist during the competition, Mr. Daniel Yeboah the Municipal education director indicated that the competition is aimed at promoting Technology, Science, Mathematics and Innovation among the pupils as well as prepare them for the Regional and National competitions.

Addressing the issue of a befitting science laboratories for training of the pupils, Mr. Yeboah indicated that two Senior High Schools in the Municipality, Nkawkaw SHS and Fodoa SHS all have fully equipped laboratories where the children go to learn and have first hand knowledge in whatever they are thought but was optimistic that city authorities will ensure that such facilities are replicated in the basic schools soon to improve their knowledge in the study of science.

The education director however noted that the tutors and quiz masters are taking notice of the general performance of the pupils in order to provide the necessary assistance that will make them ready for the completion ahead.

“Let me use this opportunity to thank the Municipal assembly for their financial and logistics support towards this program and assure them that the support will be committed to good use”*. He added.

Four schools participated in the first section with Aweregya M/A basic school emerging first with 36 points beating their rivals from Fodoa, Awenade and Nkawkaw C whiles Nkawkaw A basic school also stole the second section with 34 points to take the first position beating Nkawkaw B, Kwahu Nsabaa and Asuboni Rails in the second section.
