The Chief of Akyem Etwereso Daasebre Ofosu Kwabi Ayebeahwe has called on the people of Akyem Banka in the Asante Akyem South District to let there be peace in the area.
The Odauhene, speaking at the 100th anniversary of the West Akyem Presbyterian Church celebration, urged the people of the town to use the occasion to bring peace to the area.
He said he sees the 100 years anniversary celebration as the rebirth of Akyem Banka.
He said, a town without peace finds it difficult to develop because development always goes to places where there’s peace.
He advises the opinion leaders in the area to meet and deliberate on issues that will bring peace to the community.
He also called on the town folks to come together so that there would be peace for the town to develop.
If there’s a dispute in the town, it’s women and children that suffer, and the progress of the town also stands still, so he urged the church and opinion leaders to, as a matter of urgency, meet and discuss how to make peace prevail in the community.
Daasebre Ofosu Kwabi Ayebeahwe commends the Presbyterian Church for bringing education and health care to the country and says the years Presby has spent in the country have been a blessing to the country.
The chairman for West Akyem Presbytery Rev. Raymond Baah Abeka urged the people to emulate what the founders of the church have done and always give their lives to the country.
