Salaam Football Club of Manhea in the Amasaman Municipality won the 2018 edition of the Homowo Gala Cup after beating Agems FC team 1-0 at the Manhea School park in Accra.
Salaam FC team scored in the 64th minutes of the second-half to win the well arranged Homowo Gala Cup organised by the Manhea Zango Chief, Sarki Abdul Kadiri Ahmed Abdul Kadiri.
Salaam FC team created numerous chances in the opening quarter of the game but the attackers generously let Agems FC team off the hook.
Agems FC should have taken the lead in the 19th and 31st minutes but the defenders of Salaam FC were resolute in most parts of the first-half to curb the situation for their side.
In the dying minutes of the second-half, it was Agems FC who dominated the game as Salaam FC defense failed to deal with a goal-mouth melee and the ball fell to the Agems FC striker who fired wide to the disappointment of the fans.
Handing over the trophy to the Salaam FC team, the chief of Manhea Zango,Sarki Abdul Kadiri Ahmed Kadiri called on the people to forge ahead with unity for the betterment of the community.
This he said will help the community to have the need development its deserve adding that with peace the the community will have support to government and investors as well.
He further called on the youth to take advantage in government initiatives like the Youth Employment Authoritie programs and other government initiatives to reduce unemployment within the Manhea community.
He express gratitude to the people of Zango and others people within the Manhea community for living peacefully with each other.
Sarki Kadiri called on the various football stakeholders to focus on communities within Amasaman as they the youth have great talents and skills to play for the various national teams.
