Media Schooled On Bukom Fist Of Fury Boxing Rules And Regulations

 

The Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA) in conjunction with the Ghana Boxing Federation (GBF) and the National Juvenile Boxing Committee have organised a special seminar for media personnel ahead of the upcoming Bukom Fist of Fury Boxing League and championship fight nights, at the Bukom Boxing Arena in Accra.

 

Experienced resourceful people in boxing educated journalists on the laws of the sport and some technical aspects,that would help them inform their readers and listeners effectively and efficiently.

 

Renowned Ghanaian boxing coach, Mr. Ofori Asare, highlighted the special rules that would be used in the upcoming boxing league, to ensure adequate understanding of the competition.

 

Mr. Asare educated journalists on the scoring systems in juvenile, amateur, professional boxing, as well as highlighted the rules pertaining to the International Boxing Association (AIBA) and the World Series Boxing (WSB).

 

Mr. Roger Banor, International Boxing referee and judge, in his lecture also explained the “10 Points Must Scoring System” used across various ranks in the juvenile, amateur and professional boxing.

 

He added that, judges normally look out for how effective, energetic and powerful punches are thrown and that constitute 75% of the point allocation, with the other 25% attributed to the overall ring generalship.

 

The “Bukom Fist of Fury” boxing league comprises three tie boxing league, which includes juvenile exhibition boxing, amateur boxing league and the professional championship fight night and would start on October 12, 2018 and end in April 2019.

Before the event, the GBA, GBF and TSEL have put together a package to entice fans to come and watch the league. It starts with a carnival and street jams at Chorkor and James Town this weekend and meeting with some dignitaries.
