Ghana’s telecommunication network of all time MTN has donated a five thousand cedis (¢5,000) cheque,their airtime amounting to five hundred cedis (¢ 500) and a drink hamper to the Paramount chief of Ngleshie Alata traditional area Oblempong Nii Kojo Ababio the 5th ahead their celebration of this year’s Homowo festival.

Speaking at the ceremony to present the gesture to the traditional council, Nii Adotey Mingle a senior Manager for Sales, Operations and Trade management for MTN disclosed to the Ngleshie Alata rulers that he is aware of the fact that the “Homowo festival celebration recounts the story of their migration and their success over the years”.

He added MTN being an African multinational company has for many years committed to supporting and promoting Ghana’s rich heritage through festivals and always channel resources into supporting selected traditional festivals every year.

Nii Adotey Mingle further revealed that, beyond donations to the various traditional councils across the country, MTN has carried out extensive corporate social interventions through its Foundation across Ghana.

He was again emphatic that the MTN Ghana Foundation & MTN has improved access to healthcare, education and enhanced the economic livelihood of many by investing more than Thirteen million US dollars (13m USD) in over 142 major projects which are impacting the lives of more than four million (4) Ghanaians.

MTN strongly believe festivities of this nature would help in promoting tourism in Ghana by exhibiting our rich history and culture to the rest of the world hence their continuous support.

Oblempong Nii Kojo Ababio V  and the entire traditional council was grateful to MTN stating “on behalf of the chiefs and people of Ngleshie Alata thank MTN for the support; and used the occasion to invite MTN staff to join them in the celebration of their 2017  Homowo festival.
