MTN launched the seventh edition of iFest.

MTN Ghana launched the seventh edition of MTN annual month-long internet Festival – dubbed iFest.
The theme for this year’s edition of iFest is ‘Living a connected Life’.
Speaking at the launch the CEO Mr. Ebenezer Twum  Asante of MTN stated that this year’s iFest is special because MTN has officially become Ghana’s No. 1 4G operator with well over 11.2 million data subscribers, of which 370, 000 are 4G customers. Today, MTN 4G service is available nationwide in all regional capitals and key towns.
He said their main objective for dedicating a whole month to data education is to create awareness and promote the inherent benefit of mobile broadband data.
He further said this initiative is in line with their vision to lead the delivery of a bold new digital world to our customers.
Internet, as we know, has become the nerve center of many activities in our personal and professional lives.
According to Mr. Twum Asante We have moved from the area of simply using the internet to send and receive email to where a substantial part of lives is linked to our smart mobile devices. Today, we do research, watch movies, follow TV shows and play games online. These services are even more convenient with high speed internet access.
In spite of this growth, there are still many Ghanaians who are yet to experience the benefits of the internet. That is why there is a need for the iFest education drive.
MTN’s 4Gis the first and only 4G service that enables users to experience higher –speed mobile internet on the same mobile phone from which they make and receive voice calls. With faster internet, the transmission of data in the form of text, images or video / TV can be done with ease, on- the- go, and at the best speeds. Mr. Ebenezer Twum Asante advice Cherished and valued customers, who haven’t already done so to check the compatibility of their device with MTN 4G by dialing *585*to confirm compatibility.
He urge customers to buy an MTN 4G SIM card and SWAP to 4G from the comfort of their home or office by dialing *512* and following the prompt.
He added that several programmers have been outlined to make this year’s iFest exciting for customers as they gain increased awareness of the benefits of accessing the internet on the MTN network.
This year’s iFest will be crowned with Digital Fairs in Accra and Kumasi to expose new ways of living the connect, digital lifestyle. Other activities to be undertaken include Facebook Live sessions with customer’s favorite personalities discussing various topics online. There are lots of giveaways and prizes to grab in the various iFest competitions such as Video contest on social media and online games contest.
