My Priority Is To Improve Quality Education In My Area – Chief

The newly installed Chief of Gomoa Jukwa|Idankrom in the Central Region, Nana Kojo Idan IX has promised to ensure that the standard of education in his area, especially among girls in Junior High School is raised to redeem the town’s image in the performance of the Basic Education Certificate Examination.

He said by so doing, he will engage both parents, teachers as well as the students to help achieve this aim.

A teacher by profession, Nana Idan gave this assurance during his coronation and swearing of oath as well as that of the Queen mother of the town, Obaahemaa Esi Aketse II at the weekend.

The Central Region, especially the Gomoa Area is noted for its high incidents of teenage pregnancy among JHS students coupled with poor academic performance, resulting in majority of schools becoming drop outs.

But this situation, Nana Idan has vowed to fight to change the trend.

The coronation also marked this year’s Annual Akwambo festival of the town which was on the theme ‘’Development through Unity and Education.’’
