Netball Players To Thrill At 2nd WISA Awards On Saturday

 

The President of the Netball Association of Ghana, Reverend Emmanuel Nikoi in an exclusive interview told the the media, he is working so hard to boost the image of netball in Ghana. “Netball is a beautiful match just like any of the sport activities within the sports fraternity but,we usually do not get the funds to organize matches and to push netball forward ” he mentioned.

 

Reverend Nikoi indicated that, as a way of making known about the existence of netball and to develop and encourage the interest of up and coming sports personalities, he has joined forces with the Executive Director of Women in Sports, madam Gloria Commodore to show a demonstration match between two different teams comes Saturday 29th September, 2018 during the Women in Sports Achievers Awards at the Accra Sports Stadium.

 

The netball demonstration takes place between the Shalom Netball Club from Odumasi Krobo in the Eastern Region and Hunters Netball Club from Winneba in the Central Region. Shalom netball club is one of the leading clubs and it’s currently places second on the league table. Hunters won against Shalom in the just ended international women match organized by women commission of Ghana Universities Sports Association, GUSA. “It promises to be an interesting demonstration between these two teams” Rev. Nikoi assured.

 

Netball is a ball sports played by two teams of seven players. It is a quick passing game.

 

“I am encouraging everyone to come witness the demonstration match between these two teams come Saturday to cheer these young talented players,” the president said.

 

Reverend Emmanuel Nikoi also mentioned that, the the Rising Stars club who are the juniors of the senior netball club of Ghana is preparing to have a friendly match between “Bringing Netball Backk (BNB) club of Ikoyi of Nigeria come December, 2018 and he is calling on corporate bodies and stakeholders to help support and promote netball in Ghana through sponsorship.
