Nkansannando Community Gets Water

Nkansannando, a cocoa growing community in the Central Region breathe a sigh of relief last Wednesday when Africa Heartwood Project in support of Action Against Rural Poverty, a Ghanaian based Non- Governmental Organization constructed a pumping bore hole facility for the community.

The project which was estimated at a cost of 4,500 Dollars was supervised Aquagro Ltd. a consultancy firm for the provision bore hole water in the rural communities.

Prior to the provision of the bore hole facility, the people of the Nkansannando community relied on a source of water that drops from a nearby rock, posing serious health hazard to them.

Addressing the community at the commissioning of the project, the Chief Executive Officer of Action Against Rural Poverty, Ms. Gladys EfuaKwatemaa Yamoah said it is the mission and vision of her organization to provide assistance to people in deprived rural communities across the country, particularly cocoa growing areas, including entrepreneurial skill to women in such communities.

A representative of Africa Heartwood Project Miss Nanette Keeba Adutwumon behalf of the Director Mr. Andy Jones advised the community to put the bore hole in good use to ensure its long lasting sustainability.

The 2015|2016 Central Regional Best Farmer,Mr. Kwasi Kwagyawho is a native of the community on his part appealed to the Asikuma| Odioben |Brakwa Municipal Assembly to construct a bridge on the only road that links to the community.

According to him, the community is always cut off from the rest of the neighbouring communities anytime there is a heavy downpour because of the bad nature of the road.

The Chief of the town, Nana Danful later thanked Action Against Rural Poverty and Africa Heartwood Project for coming to their aid by providing the community with water.
