‘The wind has blown and the anus of the fowl has been exposed’ this is a popular African saying.
This has manifested itself after the reading of the 2019 budget by the finance minister Hon Ken Ofori Atta. The finance minister in the budget statement claimed that the Akim Oda recreational center has been completed and is in use.
We in the NDC find this statement malicious and blatant lies.
A visit to the place just after the reading of the budget statement revealed that the only visible development at the site is a wire fencing around an overgrown bush.
This revelation has confirmed our(NDC) long standing assertion that the NPP is allergic to infrastructural and social development in Akim Oda.
There is no doubt
that funding has been made available by the central government for the execution of the project but has been misappropriated by self seeking and greedy politicians within the NPP who are spearheading the project.
We also want to know how many projects of this nature has clandestinely been stolen to the detriment of Akim Oda’s development?
How long will the NPP continue to treat the good people of oda with contempt?
As a political party we in the NDC are demanding an unqualified apology from the NPP, THE MCE MR. Bempong, and the MP Mr William Agyapong Quaittoo for the shame and humiliation they have bestowed on the citizens of Akim Oda.
