Private Schools Calls For Assistance

Private schools have appealed to Government through the Ministry of Education and the Ghana Education Service to support children in these schools by supplying them with teaching and learning materials, as anything short of that amounts to discrimination against such children.

The call was made by the Acting Headmaster of the Assemblies of God Preparatory School in Agona Swedru, Mr. Albert Paa Koomson and the Proprietor of Good News Preparatory School at Gomoa Benso, Mr. Lawrence Hayford at separate Speech and Prize Giving Day held by their schools respectively.

They contended that private schools produce more students who graduate and serve the country in various fields of endeavor, and as such there is therefore the need for the government to support children in such schools, as done for their counterparts in the public schools.
