Sheikh I. C. Quaye Wins Two Prestigious Muslim Awards


The National chairman of the Hajj Board, Sheikh I. C. Quaye has has received the prestigious Muslim Awards the best Muslim Politicians and the Best Hajj Chairman for 2018.

The awards were bestowed on him during the Ghana Muslim Excellence Awards ceremony held to honor Muslims who have contributed to the growth and development of the Zongo communities.

The awards were also in recognition of their selfless dedication to the services of mankind and to mother Ghana.

The National Chief Imam, Sheikh Osman Nuhu Shaributu who gave the awards to the awardees, was emphatic that the gesture was in the right direction since it would energize the youth to follow the right footsteps of those who have been awarded.

In an interview with Sheikh I. C. Quaye, he said Hajj under his tenure was adjudged the best Hajj that have ever been held and was confident that the award given him as in recognition of the work he has done in that regard.

Sheikh I.C. Quaye told this reporter that the 2017/18 annual pilgrimage was the best ever that happened in the management of Hajj Affairs in the country and that the success of the board was achieved by hard work and dedication to duty by the staff of the board.

According to him, board and management has improved on its systems and dealt with number of challenges it has encountered when it took over some two years ago as they had to work on the timely release of passport with visas to Hajj agents.

He also charged political leaders to remain committed to their promise to the people, stressing that corruption which has become the norm, must be eradicated in the life of every leader and that in so doing, they would be able to build a better society.

Among the other awareness were; Alhaji Osman Musa, Best Hajj Agent, Alhaji Tango, Dr. Osman Yunusah, Best Muslim Personality, Zachariah Seidu, Best Hajj Director, Alhaji Idris Tango, Best Muslim Police Officer, Hon. Thanks Abdul Rauf, Best Muslim MP among others.

The Chairman of the Muslim Groups Ghana, organizers of the awards, Alhaji Halidu Abubakar Galaxy, said in an interview that the awards ceremony is the best way of telling their own stories and that the awarded deserve the honor in their respective endeavors.
