STCCU Get’s New Board

Swedru Teachers Co-Operative Credit Union {STCCU] has elected new members as its Board of Directors.   

The election took place during the 17th Annual General Meeting of the Union on the theme: ‘Sustaining Credit Union Gains Through Effective Credit Corporate Governance.”

Delivering his report at the meeting, the out-going Chairman of the Board, Mr. John Egyin Buadu hinted that loan delinquency still remains one of the major challenges facing the Union.

With branches in Agona Nyakrom, Breman Asikuma, Mandela in Agona Swedru, Agona Nsaba, Kasoa and Agona Bobikuma, the outgoing Chairman of the Board further disclosed that the Membership Shares also increased by almost thirty eight percent in the year under review, as against the previous fiscal year.

He again noted that the Union also lived up to it Co-Operate Social responsibilities by donating towards the Annual Akwambo festival of the Chiefs and people of Agona Nyakrom, the celebration of World Teachers Day in the Agona West and East, a set of Computers with accessories to the Gomoa Manso Community School and also donated towards and participated in the National Sanitation Exercise in its areas of operation, particularly the Agona West Municipality.

Formed by few group of teachers in Agona Swedru olver forty years ago, STCCU is said to have grown from strength to strength despite the challenge that has rocked many of the Savings and Loans institution, and has recently absorbed the Breman Asikuma Teachers Co-Operative Credit Union, because of its financial status.
