TV Africa Succumbs To Social Media Pressure: Pays Afia Schwarzenegger, Other Sacked Workers Angry

Management of Private local television, TV Africa which terminated contracts with over 60 of it’s workers with the excuse that the station is cash-strapped and struggling to raise the needed funds, was able to pay 15,000 to Afia Schwarzenegger leaving the others to wallow in their predicaments.

It would be recalled that Management of the television station took the decision to terminate the contracts with some staff.

As result of that, the lay off almost 60 staffs last September, which is about 90% of the workforce.

The station therefore entered into huge debt since it owes these workers about 3 months salary before laying them off and plus benefits for number of years they worked with the company.
Some of the staffs took the case to court, but pleaded with the court to have out of court settlement.

A comedian /Tv host, Afia Schwarzenegger who was also among the sacked workers dragged the station on social media about her salary Arrears.

In view of that and to avoid further social media bashing, Management of TV Africa settled the Ghc 15,000 owed to, Afia Schwarzenegger.

The controversial host took to Instagram to announce that indeed she had received and cashed out the cheque of GHc 15,000 made to her name by TV Africa.
She wrote: ”

The only language people understand is violence
No one should ever in their miserable life tell me to change
Thank you very much @tvafricagh ….it was a pleasure doing business with you.
Happy Happy birthday my sweet loyal self”.

However, questions are being asked as to what would come of the fate of the other workers who were equally sacked without pay.

Whilst others are suggesting Court settlement, others are believing that the Social media thing which Afia adopted before getting her cash is the way to go.
