Vice President Dr. Bawumia join the Muslim Ummah at Sukura to commemorate the 53rd Annual Maulid of the Noble Prophet Mohammed

His excellence Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia  joined the Muslim Ummah at Sukura to commemorate the 53rd Annual Maulid of the noble prophet Mohammed (S.A.W).

He reaffirmed President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s vision of seeing the Zongo developed.

According to him his government has established the Ministry for Inner City and Zongo Development as well as the Zongo Development Fund.

Dr. Bawumia said about 226 infrastructure projects being undertaken across various zongos and many have already been completed.

He added that free SHS has also brought relief to many parents and 3000 Arabic instructors have been recruited.

The administration of the annual hajj pilgrimage has also been significantly improved to the benefit of pilgrims.

To enhance the human capital in poor communities, Government has also recently granted a special scholarship to 40 students from deprived and Zongo communities in Ghana to go and study medicine in Cuba.

The first batch have arrived in Cuba and the second batch will leave next week.

Dr. Bawumia indicated that as the country prepares for another election in December, it is important for all Ghanaians especially the youth to be tolerant of divergent political views and not resort to violence in expressing political views.
