We want a female MCE in Kade:…. Queen Mothers at Kwaebribri call on President

The queen mothers association in the Kwaebirem municipality in Eastern region have healed a press conference at Akyem Kade to throw their massive support for government lead by His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for the fight against illegal mining (galamsey) which has destroyed farm lands, forestry and water bodies across the country of which Birim river isn’t left out.

Speaking to the media at the presser at Akyem Kade in the Eastern region, the queen mother of Akyem Bomso; Ohemaa Nimaah II lamented bitterly that galamsey has caused severe damages under the watch of male leadership of the Kwaebirem municipality hence, they  pleaded with the government to appoint a female leader who has the will power to bring this menace to an end for the betterment of their water bodies.

She explained that the Kwaebirem municipality has had only male leadership and it’s time for gender balance hence they would plead with president Nana Addo to appoint Madam Gifty Asare who is the only woman contender among the men for MCE position to help fight for development instead of galamsey which is destroy their lands and water bodies.

The secretary for Queen mothers association in the Kwaebirem municipality and double as the Adankronohemaa; Nana Abena Aseiduwaa II, speaking to the media added that the Kwaebirem municipality hasn’t had a female leader under the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government before and due to that they are far beyond development hence, the queen mothers would plead to president Akufo Addo to appointment Madam Gifty Asare who is the only female candidate as their new MCE for gender balance.

Some of the queen mothers who were present at the presser spoke to the media and called on president for a female MCE in the Kwaebirem municipality to help fight the galamsey operation which has destroyed the Biremu river because the men who are allegedly being part of the galamsey activity have failed them for long.
