A lecturer in Theology at the Regent University and founder of the Overcomers Royal Sanctuary, Apostle Joshua Kobina Darko Spokwell has asked the government to come out clear and explain to the public the reasons behind the suspension of the construction of the National Cathedral.
The construction of the edifice was to fulfill a promise made by the president, Nana Addo Dankwah Akuffo-Addo to God and Ghanaians in the heat of his campaign prior to his election. But his promise was met by fierce resistance from sections of the members of the public, including the opposition National Democratic Congress which questions its source of funding.
Though the foundation was laid for the construction of the edifice to take off despite the resistance by sections of the public the government later announced the suspension of the project to the amazement of many.
This situation has prompted the call by some concerned Ghanaians, including members of the Clergy on the government to come out clear and explain the reason for the suspension of the project.
