Y’AEMAA Ladies and Gents donates to TO Akim Oda GOV’T Hospital

Y’AEMAA Ladies and Gents as part of activities to celebrate Mother’s day has donated some items to the Akyem Oda Government hospital.

The items worth thousands of Ghana Cedis, are to be shared amongst the children presently on admission at the facility.

The items include detergents, soft drinks, diapers, toilet rolls, biscuits, bottle water , stationery and toys.

Speaking to the media, the president of Y’AEMAA Ladies and Gents Mrs. Margaret Agyemang, stated that the occasion though meant for mothers each year could focus on children too at some point adding that it is the reason the group has decided to celebrate children instead of mothers.

She said that children are gifts from God and ought to be well taken care of by their parents and guardians.

She said that these are the future of their parents.

She adviced parents to protect their children and give them the necessary foundation they need.

The Deputy Director of Nursing Services who doubles as the Head of Nursing at the Akyem Oda Government Hospital, Mrs. Augustina Boadu Amoah, receiving the items, thanked Y’AEMAA Ladies and Gents for their immense support to the Hospital.

She promised the group that the items will be shared amongst the children in the various wards.

She urged the general public to be tolerant with nurses in their societies because of the stressful nature of their work.

“Looking at the nurses patients ratio, there is a big challenge on the field of work with respect to the profession because one nurse would always have to attend to many patients at a time and sometimes, it makes it feel stressed. This make people think they lack respect but it is not the case,” she said.

The Municipal Chief Executive of Birim Central Municipality, Hon. Victoria Adu Badu, expressed her sincere gratitude to Y’AEMAA Ladies and Gents for the support given to the Akyem Oda Government Hospital.

According to her, given alms should be the responsibility of all well-to-do citizens in every nation.

She however, encouraged other philanthropists to emulate what Y’AEMAA Ladies and Gents have done in helping to build the nation.

The wife of the Member of Parliament for Akim Oda Constituency Mrs. Henrietta Acquah also expressed gratitude to the Y’AEMAA Ladies and Gents for remembering the children and prayed for God’s blessing for them.

She advice parents to be pillars behind their children.
