Akyem Achiasse MP has organized Entrepreneurial Skills for 400 people in Achiasse constituency.

The Member of Parliament for Akyem Achiase constituency in the Achiase District of the Eastern Region, Hon. Kofi Ahenkora Marfo, popularly known as Chairman Marfo, has organized a graduation ceremony for 400 women and a man who were trained in various entrepreneurial skills and also commission an ultramodern market complex for the people of Achiasse.

The trainees acquired skills in how to make shoes, slippers, make-up, soap, parazone, liquid soap, shower gel, after-wash, tie and dye, pastries, beads, and so on.

All the trainees were awarded a certificate and capital to start their businesses.

The Member of Parliament for Akyem Achiase constituency, Hon. Kofi Ahenkora Marfo, in his address, admonished the trainees to put whatever they have learned to work.
According to him, what the trainees have learned is their future, and they must take it seriously.

He commended them for a successful program and advised them not to waste the money given them but to put it to good use.Hon. Marfo stated that some programs, such as aquaculture training, livestock farming, certified driving training, license renewal, and upgrading of licenses, will be offered to the constituents by December 2023.

The Deputy Minister of Employment and Labour Relations, Hon. Bright Wireko Brobbey, said it is the wish of the government that everyone should get a job to do.

He said everybody thinks it’s only when you wear a suit and tie that you’re doing a good job, but that’s not the case.

Handiwork is one of the jobs, and that’s very dear to the government’s heart because those people who have helped build the nation are those in the informal sector.

They form about 80% of the work force in Ghana, and the ministry adores people organizing such programs.

He said what the trainees have learned is what will put food on their table.

The Chief of Akyem Achiase, Daasebre Gyenin Akenten, said when positions become vacant in the Achiase Constituency, anyone can contest, irrespective of the political party or the area the person is coming from.Once you live in the Achiase constituency, you qualify to occupy any position.

He bemoaned the attitudes of some members of the NPP in the Achiase Constituency that could mar the peace and unity of the entire constituency.

He pleaded with the Member of Parliament and the DCE to make sure they settled those misunderstandings in the constituency.He advised the party members to stop disgracing themselves in the constituency.

He commended the Member of Parliament, Hon. Kofi Ahenkorah Marfo, the Women’s Wing, and the Aseda Foundation for organizing such a wonderful program for the people in Achiase constituency.
