Akyem Kotoku Omanhene together with Chairman of Kotoku Royals FC cut sod for the upgrading of Akyem Oda Municipal park.

The Omanhene of Akyem Kotoku Traditional Council, His Royal Majesty Oseadeayo Dr. Frimpong Manso IV, together with the Executive Chairman of Kotoku Royals FC, Mr. Linford Boadu Asamoah have cut sod for the upgrading of the Akyem Oda Municipal park.

The park if completed will have over 3000 spectators capacity.

The club’s Executive Chairman, earlier this year after their qualification to the Ghana Premier League, promised the supporters of the club, that he will do everything within his power to make sure Kotoku Royals play their home matches in their favorite home grounds, Akyem Oda Municipal Park. Holding to his words, the management have reached an agreement with one of the best engineers in the country in terms of building stadia in the country to uplift the face of the Akyem Oda Municipal Park.

The ground-breaking project is partly pre-funded by the engineer himself. He’s expected to be fully paid after completion.

The park when completed will host Akyem Kotoku Royals home games in the Ghana Premier League and other continental tournaments.

The project is expected to be completed within one month.

The Omanhene of Akyem Kotoku Traditional Council, Oseadeayo Dr. Frimpong Manso IV, in his address, called on the people of Akyem Kotoku Traditional area and Eastern Region as a whole to use the same prayers and support they used to support the team to the Premier League to support the project for it to be completed on time to meet the time frame given by Ghana Football Association.

He said, that will enable Kotoku Royals FC to play their home matches in Akyem Oda.

According to the traditional Leader, “every success comes with responsibilities so I am urging all citizens to contribute their widows mite to support the team”

The Executive Chairman of Kotoku Royals FC, Mr. Linford Boadu Asamoah, said the project when completed will not only benefit Kotoku Royals FC but everyone in the municipality.
He added that, it is important that everyone support the project to be successful so that the team plays their home matches in Oda as that will boost economic activities from pure water sellers to taxi drivers, filling stations, restaurants etc.

Mr. Linford Boadu Asamoah applauded and appreciated the supporters for their unflinching support at every stage of the team’s struggle. He said with the help of the supporters and stakeholders this one too shall pass.
