ASPIRING PM POISED TO WIN ELECTION DESPITE FAILING TO SECURE 2/3 MAJORITY

The Assembly Member for Lower Bobikuma electoral area in the Agona West Constituency, Hon. Frank Yeboah is tipped to be voted as the new Assembly Member for the Agona west Municipal Assembly,  after failing to secure two thirds of the total votes cast in two rounds.

The election which took place after the inauguration of the new Assembly Members by the Central Regional Minister, Hon. Kwamena Duncan to usher them into office, the two candidates, the immediate past Presiding Member Fran k Abban and the Assembly Member for Lower Bobikuma, Frank Yeboah who filed to contest as Presiding Member failed to secure the two thirds majority votes required to win the position, both obtaining 17 and 20 votes respectively in the first round.

This called for a second round which again saw both aspirants securing 20 votes each, with 5 rejected, making none of them unable to qualify for the position, and was therefore postponed to another date to be communicated to the members later.

But Hon. Frank Yeboah who spoke to the media after the election expressed optimism of winning the election anytime it would be conducted, describing it as “friendly fire.’’
