Children In Private Schools Also Deserve Better – Proprietor

A Civil Engineer and Proprietor of Great Counsellor Academy at Otabilkrom in Agona Swedru, Mr. Kofi Enimpong has appealed to the government to extend some helping hand to children in private schools, especially those in rural and deprived areas, by supplying them some learning materials such as note and exercise books as giving to their counterparts in public schools to aid them in their learning.

According to him, despite the fact that some children arev attending private schools, about a tenth of them are from very poor homes, and as such the schools have taken upon themselves to provide such children at least basic form of education, to support the education for all concept.

He pointed out that as a result of their economic background of parents of such children, most proprietors are rather providing such children free tuition, uniform, exercise books and even feeding.

A Sunday School teacher at the Assemblies of God Church and member of the Child Evangelism Fellowship [CEF] of the Church in the Central Region, Mr. Enimpong said his aim of establishing the school is as a result of his passion and love for the education of children.

Established two years ago with only three children, he disclosed that the school has now a population of over fifty children, attributing the increase in number to the high level and quality of education and Christian principles that the school imbibe in the children, but he however called on the government to factor private schools in the free supply of teaching and learning materials [TLMs], as according to him, all these children will grow to serve the country in various capacities.
