The National Sanitation Day Exercise continues in Agona Swedru despite the low participation that has greeted the exercise nationwide, since its inception.
The exercise in Swedru which was under the auspices of the Agona West Municipal Assembly in conjunction with the Environmental Health Directorate of the Municipality saw National Service Personnel, members of the media as well as staff of the Assembly and the Environmental Health Directorate taking centre stage, sweeping major roads and disilting drains.
The only thing that took the shine out of the exercise was the absence of security personnel such as the Police, Fire and Immigration Services who used to form the core of the exercise at the initial stages.
