The founder and leader of the Jesus Is God Power Gift Ministry, Apostle Abraham Newman has admonished the government not to give heed to calls from other quarters for the scrapping of the Free Senior High School education. According to Apostle Newman, bowing to any such pressure and cancelling the Free SHS policy would be doing a great disservice to the numerous parents who could not have afford to send their children to Senior High School. According to him, the implementation of the Free Senior High School policy has also helped reduce the problem of school dropouts who would have become street children because of their inability to access secondary education, had it not been the Free SHS policy introduced by the government. Apostle Abraham Newman who gave this admonishing at his 50th Birthday celebration by the church in Agona Nyakrom recounted instances in the past where most people became wayward children because of their parents inability to send them to school because of financial constraints. He has however urged the government to expand the policy to cover both the technical and vocational training institutions.
