Fear has gripped residents of Gomoa Benso in the Gomoa Central District in Central Region over a dilapidated wooden public place of convenience which has become a death trap.

The facility which was constructed about a year ago is the only public place of convenience, serving the community of over two thousand inhabitants.

Currently, it is only the aged and children who are making do of the facility, whiles the young and middle age find themselves in the bushes because of the broken nature of the wooden structure which exposes their privacy when easing themself.

Some of the residents who spoke with our correspondent accusing the District Assembly headed by its Chief Executive Benjamin Kojo Otoo as well as its Presiding Member Abeku Koomson who also the Assembly Member for the area and Headteacher of a public school just nearby the toilet facility of failing to construct a concrete modern public place of convenience for the community.

According to the residents, they have made persistent pleas to the Assembly Member, but all to no avail.

They later expressed fear about possible outbreak of cholera in the community, if a lasting solution is not found to solve the problem immediately.
