Guarantors Of NIA Cards Forced To Swear Oath

Holders of the National Identification Authority Cards who are eligibly required and permitted to guarantee for would-beholder are made to swear an oath with the Bible before their guarantee is accepted.

They were made to place their hand on the Bible on a table beside one of the officials and swear the oath.

The incident which took place at Anglican Basic School centre at Otabilkrom in Agona Swedru in the Central Region saw people of various religious background, whether a Christian or Muslim compelled by the NIA officials at the centre to go through what some of the registrants described as a religious ordeal.
