Kotoko Demolish Legon Cities

Asante Kotoko SC made light work of the much fancied Legon Cities FC with octane rated football at the Accra Sports stadium in the maiden edition of the Friday Night Football.

The Porcupine Warriors molested the City boys under the inspiration of Sougne Yacouba with an emphatic 1-3 score line to show for their effort.

Dubbed as the match fit the gods of football, Asante Kotoko SC fell behind to Panagiatos Papadoupolos early before coming to the party with three quality goals in the festive match at the nation’s Wembley under flood lights.

A well composed equalizer from Augustine Okrah hauled the visitors back into the game in the opening stanza before Emmanuel Gyamfi sentenced his former paymasters to 90 minutes imprisonment on their own turf.

Complete team dominance from the Porcupine Warriors after Okrah’s equalizer left the ‘Paa Paa Paaa Boys’ in a state of hallucination with disjointed passes, naive attacking machinery and lack of leadership on the pitch.

The presence of dance hall legend, Shatta Wale, failed to inspire the Royals into the party with two stunning strikes from Gyamfi just eclipsing the rejuvenated Sougne Yacouba.

Series of profligate shooting from Emmanuel Gyamfi denied the speedster the match day ball with several sitters allowed to go waste in his search for the hatrick goal.

The arrival of African version of Lionel Messi, Mathew Cudjoe, resurrected dead bodies at the Osu cemetery thanks to the cacophony of noise from the Red Army. The teen jewel joined the party as expected with some deft touches as well.

The limitless resources for the host only ended outside the pitch with Asante Kotoko SC breezing class across the pitch from defense to attack.

The midfield pivot, leveraging around Justice Blay, proved too hazardous for the ball winners in the camp of the Royals with Mudasiru Salifu and Collins Ameyaw cleaning any dust on the flanks.

A Friday night with beaming flood light ended up in tears for the Royals thanks to the presence of wounded Porcupines in the capital.

Asante Kotoko Sc return to Oseikrom with three points as the paaa paaa paaa ended in ‘paaam’.
