Make Security Education Part Of School Curriculum – Churches Advocate

The Swedru District Area Head of the Voice of the Lord Evangelical Church, Rev. Samuel Temeng, has advocated for the introduction of security consciousness as part of the school curriculum to make every child to be conscious about anything that borders on his or her security, or that of the State.

He has also called for it to be made compulsory as part of National Service for graduate students to serve in the various Security Services, as done in most develop countries of the world.

Rev. Temeng made the appeal at the end of 2-Week Fasting and Prayers by the Church in AgonaSwedru.

He stressed that the church also has a responsibility to play in this, by using the pulpit to educate their members on the need to be each other’s keeper as the Bible demand by not caring about themselves alone, but about each and every one in the community the live.

His admonishing follows recent incidents of kidnapping and other nefarious activities by some foreigners that have rocked the country for some time now.

Meanwhile, the Garden No. 5 Minister of the 12 Apostles’ Church in AgonaSwedru, Prophetess Sarah Amoah has advice parents, especially mothers not to expose their children to strangers.

She warned that with the upsurge of quest for ”spiritual money” of what has become known as ‘SAKAWA’, by the youth, parents should not entrust their children into the hands of even family members whose life are questionable.

In a related development, the founder and leader of the Holy City of Wisdom Chapel at Kasoa in the Central Region, Apostle Samuel Mensah has also called on the country’s Security Services, especially the Police, Military and Immigration to intensify their mandate of ensuring the safety of the people in the country.

He said by doing this, the Immigration Service should ensure that full details of every foreigner who enters the country fully documented to be able to track anybody who engages in any nefarious activity in the country.

Apostle Samuel Mensah made the call at a Three-Day Non- Denominational Revival at AgonaNyakrom on the them: “Eagles Don’t Fly with Vultures” which attracted hundreds of people from all walks of life.  

He also called for the organization of a national prayer to be held by all Churches to reverse the trend of events.
