Odauhene Daasebre Ofosu Kwabi Ayebiahwe has been appointed regent of Akyem Begoro

The Chief of Akyem Etwereso who double as the acting Benkumhene of Akyem Abuakwa Traditional Council, Daasebre Ofosu Kwabi Ayebiahwe, has been appointed as the regent of Akyem Begoro.

Since the death of the late Begorohene, Daasebre Awuah Kotoko II, all efforts to get a new chief for the traditional area has been soiled with dispute from the royal families.

Some members from the royal families are creating a lot of confusion which has brought tension in the area.

The Okyehene, Osagyefo Amoatia Ofori Panin, has intervene by asking Daasebre Ofosu Kwabi Ayebiahwe, the Odauhene to take over from Osaberima Bosompem Oyiripe II, Sewurakohene, who have been acting for some time now.

Daasebre Ofosu Kwabi Ayebiahwe was appointed by the overlord of Akyem Abuakwa State, Osagyefo Amoatia Ofori Panin, to ensure that there is absolute peace and harmony in Akyem Begoro.

The Odauhene has accepted his appointment by Osagyefo as the Regent of Begoro and the Benkum stool of Akyem Abuakwa.

The Chief of Akyem Etwereso in his speech thanked Osagyefo Amoatia Ofori Panin for how supportive he has been to Etwereso especially during this year’s Odau Odwira festival.

He also expressed his gratitude to him for appointing him to be the regent of Begoro.
He promised to make sure there is peace in Begoro.

He urged the people to let peace prevail so that there will be developmental projects in the area.
