Christians have been told to use occasions such as Easter, Christmas and Valentine’s Day to exhibit true love without expecting anything in return.
The founder and General Overseer of the Divine Gift Worship Ministry, Rev. Philip McCallister who gave the admonishing said more often than not, the majority of Christians, instead of showing Agape love to the less privileged in society during occasions such as Valentine’s Day, rather use the occasion to propose love by buying gifts for female friends in expectation of something return.
He described that as lust and not love, as according to him, it defeats the purpose of the celebrations of such events. He has therefore advised Christians not to allow the world to sway them, but rather use such occasions to win the world for God by showing love and not lust.
