The Member of Parliament for Akyem Oda constituency in the Birim Central Municipality Eastern Region, Hon. Alexander Akwesi Acquah, has broken ground for the construction of Akyem Aboabo town.
Akyem Aboabo town roads have never seen bitumen since day one.
In the year 2020, the town road was given to a contractor, but nothing has happened up until now.
The Member of Parliament, since becoming MP for the area, has been using his own pocket money to reshape and construct a lot of roads in the constituency.
Hon. Alexander Akwasi Acquah, speaking to the people during the handing over of the site to the contractor to construct the road, stated that even though sod was cut in 2020 for the road to see light, nothing happens, and the people still support him to win the highest percentage vote in the whole of the Eastern Region, so he takes it upon himself to work very hard for the road to be constructed for the people.
He said he did a lot of follow-up on the project. When the government agreed to do the road for the people of Aboabo, there were Sanballat and Tobaih who didn’t want the progress of the town.
They were saying a whole lot of negative things about him, which shouldn’t be so.
According to him, those people don’t have anything to offer the town and will also not allow people who want to develop the place to do their work too.They always try to pull people down.
If you don’t have anything to offer, allow the people who can help to do so.
Hon. Alexander Akwasi Acquah said even if the government is not ready to start the project, he will use his own money to start, like he did on SDA Road, and then later the government will come in and provide support.
Akyem Aboabo is a big town, so you can’t develop Akyem Oda and leave Akyem Aboabo.
He said Akyem Aboabo people are going to support him to win 90% of the vote for the NPP in the December election, and he believes the people of Akyem Aboabo will make it happen.
He called on the people to support him so that they could develop the constituency together.
The Chief of Akyem Aboabo, Nana Ampomah Kubrah Yeboah, commends the MP for all the projects he has been doing in the town.
According to him, at long last, the town is going to see Bitumen, no matter what the road will be constructed for them.
