SWEDRU NVTI SETS NEW RECORD

The National Vocational Training institute (NVTI) at Agona Swedru in the Central Region has set a new academic record, with 90 percent of its final year students presented at the 2017|2018 academic year examination of the National Board for Professional and Technical Examination (NABPTEX) and Certificate 2 of the National Vocational Training Institute (NVTI) passing in all the subjects of their causes, the first of its kind since the school was established about two decades ago.

Out of a total of 117 students presented at the examination, 105 passed in all the subjects, with only twelve passing in two or three subjects.

This achievement is attributed to hard work, dedication and commitment by both students and teaching staff of the institute, according to its Principal, Mr. Bernard Bagao Bananzi.

But despite this success, the institute is faced with numerous challenges such as absence of fence wall, thereby creating an avenue for the students to run to town at the least opportunity.

According to the Principal, as part of measures to help address the problem, the institute has employed the services of a security guard to man the gate to the school, but stressed that the move cannot be said to be a total panacea to the problem, as the students use other outlets to run to town.

The Principal revealed this during the Parents |Teacher Association meeting over the weekend, and therefore appealed to parents to pay regular visits to the school to ascertain the conditions and academic performance of their wards.
